For those who care...
To The Concerned Citizen of The World:
"Killing innocent civilians is NOT an act of self-defense. Destroying a sovereign nation is NOT a measured response."Lebanese civilians have been under the constant attack of the state of Israel for several days. The State of Israel, in disregard to international law and the Geneva Convention, is launching a maritime and air siege targeting the entire population of the country. Innocent civilians are being collectively punished in Lebanon by the state of Israel in deliberate acts of terrorism as described in Article 33 of the Geneva Convention.... (Read more)

I can not believe I'm seeing this.
"To The Concerned Citizen of The World:

Where was this sentiment when the muslim brethren have been blowing themselves up in Israeli cafes and firing rockets into Israeli civilian areas from Gaza over the past years?
Where was this sentiment when thousands of muslim Arabs cheered the 9/11, 7/11 and Spain railway bombings?
The Arabs like to have it both ways. They are tough when they target Israeli civilians but victims when the Israeli military responds.
Hypocrites.

Anonymous:
I see the exact same hypocrisy from the Israeli side. They're just as hypocritical, if even more. At least the Arabs don't go covering up their crimes, manipulating the media so nobody sees that and giving out blatantly false pictures for the world, in order to brainwash people. I'm afraid your precious Zionist and US media are doing exactly that. Add to that being very tough when they target Arab civilians but playing the helpless and scared victims when retaliation comes.
Why else do they keep drawing the Oh-no-don't-attack-us-we-just-survived-the-holocaust-us-poor-poor-Jews-you-filthy-antisemite card every time?
That's pure hypocrisy for you.

It is just the other side of the card, annonymous.
You ask why the Arabs did not go against the attacks on Israeli places and whatever. Simply because they view it as resistance against an occupier that kills civilians in return.
On the other side, Israelis justify killing civilians as self-defence. So it is just a card with two sides.
Lemme call it lack of understanding instead of hypocrisy.
It is the intellectual's role to make things clear to his side. Do you think you are involved?

Sphinx:
I don't think it's the "don't attack us ... holocaust" card. It's more like don't attack us or we will kick your ass again card.
When people look back on this in 500 years they will marvel on how a little country could continuously beat the hell out of the multiple neighbors that attacked it over the years. (and dont' try to say it's the weaponry. They beat the hell out of the arabs when the arabs had the latest soviet technology too).
Unfortunately for the Arabs the whole world (including some Arab regimes)is tiring of their - shoot rockets into civilian areas then hide behind babies routine and is giving Israel a few weeks of some much pent up retribution.
It's time for the "arab street" to start doing something constructive with their lives rather than sitting around trying to find new ways to kill the "infadel".

Well, the petition is down. I wanted to see what it said.
The thing is I do believe the Israeli response is excessive, but Hezbollah started it by attacking and kidnapping Israeli soldiers. Everyone knows that Israel will respond and they will do so with a level of force that a lot believe is over the top. Therefore, this was clear provocation done for a purpose that is yet to be determined.
I'm heartbroken that innocent civilians are in the middle of this. However, if you vote for Hezbollah, allow them to live and work next to you then you're going to get caught in the cross-fire. That's exactly what is happening.
Also, why aren’t the citizens angry that Hezbollah started this in the first place?
