Qana 1996 - 2006

Flashback:
The Qana shelling took place on April 18, 1996 in Qana, a village located southeast of Tyre, Lebanon. Amid heavy fighting between the Israeli Defense Forces and Hezbollah during "Operation Grapes of Wrath", a Fijian UNIFIL compound in the village was shelled by Israeli artillery. Around 800 Lebanese civilians had taken refuge there to escape the fighting, of whom 106 were killed and around 116 others injured. Four UNIFIL soldiers were also seriously injured. The event has sometimes been referred to as the Qana massacre, for example by Human Rights Watch and the BBC.

2006:

An Israeli air strike killed 54 civilians, including 37 children, on Sunday,
prompting Lebanon to tell U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice she was
unwelcome in Beirut and fuelling world pressure for a ceasefire.
It is just the same scenario. They hit a building full of civilians and
say Hezbollah used civilians as human shields, or they did not want to kill
civilians, the attack was intended to be on Hezbollah but the IDF shot by
mistake... Or any of this crap that we should eat for good whenever they do one
of their massacres. Sorry, only fools and racist asses can believe such crap
now.

To the Israeli motherfuckers who show their ugly faces on TV
spitting lies about the massacre, I got some questions:

Israel said it regretted the incident - but added that civilians had been warned
to flee the village.

Olmert, if you are hitting Qana because Hezbollah are hiding there, how the fuck would you tell civilians to flee. Doesn't this mean that Hezbollah fighters will flee as well?

Israel said it was unaware civilians were in the building and accused Hizbollah
of firing rockets from Qana

Oh really? Then how did you send a warning to the civilians to flee?

Israel said the Shia militant group was responsible for the Qana strike, because
it used the town to launch rockets.

Oh yeah, and the civilians had the rockets stuck in their asses, so they exploded as soon as the civilians got killed. Where the fucken rockets at huh?

I wonder what kind of a major military power that does not know every piece of information about its targets. In 1996, they shelled a UN building full of refugees, and justified the act saying that they had old maps. And now they say they did not know that civlians were in there although they - themselves - said that they warned the civilians.

The BBC's Jim Muir, in Qana, says many did not have the means - or were too
frightened - to flee.
Okay, so let them burn.

Jimmy, it's war. Hizbollah brought this upon Lebanon. What of every single rock et that hits civilian targets in Israel. Where is your outrage for them?

Jimmy - What had happend is not surpprising me at all, because this is the normal attitude form the mentalities that role Israel since 1948.

Human Rights means that everyone on this planet has the right to live in peace, no matter what the race is + no matter what the race is, but they do not understand this point. They only look to the situation from their perspective only.

Job, one of the main aspects that is outraging me is as follows:

Israel is claiming again and again that it is trying to limit civilian deaths. There are either two possibilites, I can either believe it, or I won't believe it. But it either ways, let's do the math.

Let's say they're not trying to limit the civilian deaths. Then they are simply lying and twisting the media around to brainwash the people into believing that they're no aggressors. But in the end they carry a huge responsibility out of this war. And they prove to be terrorists themselves. What, somebody who deliberately kills civilians is no terrorist?

If they really are trying to limit civilian deaths, shouldn't they have learned from the mistakes it has done by now? Screw up once or twice then actually try harder not to kill any more? But then why another massacre? And why is the Lebanese civilian death toll 20 times higher than the Israeli one? Especially when Israel has very high technologies in guiding high-precision missiles and airstrikes? Are they not able to handle this stuff? Are they too stupid NOT to be able to limit the civilian deaths, which it is supposedly trying? In that case, they shouldn't be anywhere near a warzone in the first place!

So Israel is either
1) lying
2) really incompetent

Your choice.

The damnable shame of the whole situation is that if it wasn't for a small spit of land, we all could sit down and enjoy a cigar and coffee together. Unfortunately , many people put a piece of land (a speck of sand on the world map) above gaining enjoyment out of life.

In 1996, they shelled a UN building full of refugees, and justified the act saying that they had old maps.

That sounds strangely familiar to the NATO attack on Belgrade in 1999 when they hit the Chinese Embassy, claiming old maps, despite it having been there for quite some time and tourist maps widely available in NATO-friendly Zagreb (Croatia) clearly noting the Chinese embassy's exact location in both Serbian and English. It is beyond belief that one would bomb and target an area one knows nothing about. Why would the CIA (or for that matter the Israeli military) have inferior maps to those one can buy in tourist shops for maybe $8 (or $24 if very unlucky with particularly aggressive street sellers)?
